Angels shutout by Kluber

The Angels were unable to win back-to-back over Cleveland, suffering a 3-0 loss on Saturday thanks to the pitching of Corey Kluber. Los Angeles now is 55-57 overall this year and 26-29 on the road. The Angels are averaging 4.53 runs per game this year while allowing 4.30 per contest.

Deck McGuire gets the start for the Angels this afternoon. He has appeared in seven games for Los Angeles, but 11 total as he played for the Blue Jays prior. He has an 0-1 record with a 6.12 ERA and 1.60 WHIP this year. McGuire has 21 strikeouts and 15 walks over 25.0 innings.

Indians bounce back

The Indians were able to avenge Friday’s loss thanks to their pitching on Saturday. Cleveland is now 60-49 overall and 33-22 at home this season. Cleveland is putting up 5.13 runs per game this year while allowing 4.21 per contest.

Shane Bieber gets the start for Cleveland this afternoon. He has started nine games this season and has a 5-2 record with a 4.73 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. Bieber has pitched a total of 51.1 innings this year and has 51 strikeouts with 10 walks.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are just 2-6 in their last 8 Sunday games and 3-14 in their last 17 road games against a winning team.

Cleveland

The Indians have won 66 of their last 98 home games and six of their last eight Sunday games.

Prediction:

The Angels definitely don’t have a pitcher to rely on today. McGuire doesn’t have the ability to get deep into games and his results have certainly been lacking. Bieber isn’t a lockdown pitcher, but he can get strikeouts and avoids walks for the most part. I think Cleveland will grind out the win with some early runs and then the bullpen will lock things up late.

The Pick: Cleveland Indians -165
