Rockies drop three of four at Cards

Colorado lost its series finale by a count of 3-2 Thursday afternoon at St. Louis, losing three of four in the series. Gerardo Parra led the way in the loss as he was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 and scored a run. Wade Davis suffered the loss as he allowed two earned runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning.

Brewers shredded for 21 runs

Milwaukee was crushed 21-5 Thursday night at Los Angeles, giving up a record amount of runs at Dodger Stadium. Jhoulys Chacin was crushed four nine runs (eight earned) on five hits with three strikeouts and four walks over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss. Milwaukee trailed 12-5 before giving up nine runs in the bottom of the seventh, five of which were allowed by position player Hernan Perez. Christian Yelich paced the offense by going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three runs. Jesus Aguilar went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a walk.

German Marquez (9-8, 4.82 ERA) takes the mound today for Colorado, while Milwaukee counters with Junior Guerra (6-7, 3.43).

MLB Betting Trends

Colorado

The over is 6-2 in the last eight Rockies road games. Colorado is 20-8 in its last 28 games overall.

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 Friday games. Milwaukee is 9-4 in its last 13 Friday games.

Prediction: Milwaukee had to travel back home after getting walloped last night, while Colorado had a shorter trip and played during the day. Marquez is hurt by pitching in Coors Field and has had plenty of solid starts in his two years in the MLB. Guerra struggled his last start and his luck seems to be fading. I'm going to take a shot on Colorado here as it attempts to climb the NL Wild Card standings.
