San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Brandon Crawford left Thursday's game against the Phillies with a jammed shoulder. Donovan Solano finished out the game at shortstop for San Francisco after Crawford bowed out in the fourth inning. Manager Bruce Bochy admitted there's "some concern" over Crawford's shoulder, which he injured diving for a ground ball. He went 0-for-1 with a walk prior to exiting.
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
After coming into a scoreless game in the ninth, Wade Davis gave up two homers and five runs to take a loss Wednesday against the Dodgers. The Rockies are paying $18 million this year to a reliever with a 6.82 ERA at the moment. Despite the lofty ERA, Davis has been a decent enough closer, going 15-for-17 in his save chances. There's no reason for the Rockies to move him out of the ninth, but they'll probably be increasingly shy about using him in tie games.
MLB Betting Trends
San Francisco
The Giants have won eight straight games coming off a loss and are 10-1 in their last 11 games when facing divisional rivals.
Colorado
The Rockies have lost seven straight games in which Peter Lambert starts and are winless at 0-4 in his last four outings at home.
Prediction:
The over is 4-1-1 in Shaun Anderson’s last six starts overall and is 5-2 in his last seven outings on the road. The over is also 4-1 in Lambert’s last five starts when facing an opponent with a winning record and is 8-3 in the Rockies’ last 11 home games when facing a right-hander. The Giants’ bats have cooled off the past two weeks but a trip to Denver is just what the doctor ordered. Given this Anderson vs. Lambert pitching matchup, there’s no reason to take the under.
