San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Kevin Pillar swatted a two-run homer in a 5-1 triumph over the Phillies on Wednesday. He went yard with Brandon Crawford along for the ride in the sixth inning. His blast was the third homer of the frame for the Giants, who scored all five of their runs in that stanza. Pillar owns a sub-par .666 OPS this season but still manages to generate a fair amount of fantasy value in the counting stats. He has a .239 batting average with 13 home runs, 57 RBI, 52 runs and eight stolen bases in 107 games for the Blue Jays and Giants this year. His .266 on-base percentage is the second-lowest in the majors, ahead of only Rougned Odor.
Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Jean Segura went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles during Wednesday's loss to the Giants. The Phillies couldn't get anything going against Jeff Samardzija and the Giants' bullpen. They managed just five knocks as a team in the defeat. Segura is having a rather bland season in fantasy terms, slashing .287/.328/.449 with 11 home runs, 44 RBI and seven stolen bases through 95 games. He isn't running much this year and that has sapped his fantasy value quite a bit. He has stolen as many as 44 bases in a single season in the past.
MLB Betting Trends
The Giants are 4-1 in Rodriguez’s last five road starts but have dropped 12 of his last 16 outings on the road.
The Phillies have won five of their last six games following a loss and are 4-1 in their last five contests when playing the third game of a series.
The over is 5-1-1 in Alfonso Marquez’s last seven games behind home plate and is 4-1 in Rodriguez’s last five starts versus the National League East. On the other side, the over is 4-1 in the Phillies’ last five games following a loss, is 3-0-1 in Arrieta’s last four starts coming off five days of rest and is 5-2 in his last seven outings at Citizens Bank Park.
