According to oddsmakers, the Astros are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -215 to win. The Indians are listed with a money line of +175 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 8.5 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 70 percent going on Houston on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Houston ends win streak

Houston saw its three-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday night in a 10-4 loss to the Indians. The Astros are 69-40 overall, 31-25 on the road and 58-46 with the under. Gerrit Cole gets the start for Houston tonight. He is 12-5 on the season with a 2.94 ERA.

The Astros put up some runs early on Cleveland, but were held scoreless over the final six innings. Carlos Correa hit a home run in the loss while Yuli Gurriel drove in three runs, giving him 68 RBI for the season. Jose Urquidy took the loss for the Astros. He fell to 1-1 on the year after giving up six runs over four innings of work.

Indians bounce back

Cleveland had lost back-to-back games to the Royals and Astros, but were able to get back on track last night with a 10-4 win. The Indians are 63-44 overall, 33-22 at home and 57-47 with the under. The Tribe have Danny Salazar getting the start today. He is making his season debut for the team.

Zach Plesac improved to 6-3 on the season with a win on Wednesday. He didn’t have his best stuff, giving up four runs over five innings, but got plenty of run support in the win. Carlos Santana connected on his 23rd home run of the season and drove in three runs while Roberto Perez had two home runs and drove in four. Jason Kipnis also homered and had three RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Houston

The Astros have won seven straight Game 3’s of a series and four of their last five following a loss.

Cleveland

The Indians have won eight of their last 10 home games and 20 of their last 28 following a win.

Prediction:

Salazar missed all of last season due to a shoulder injury. He is 38-33 over his career with a 3.82 ERA. He was pretty strong on the mound before injury, but it’s hard to expect a lot of greatness from him in his first start in over a year, especially against this Houston lineup. Cole has been another outstanding arm for Houston. He has gone seven innings in his last three starts and allowed just one run each time. He has 212 strikeouts on the year and is just locked in. I think he will be able to outdo Salazar and take the pressure off the Houston hitters to have to put up a big number, even though they could.

MLB Prediction: Houston Astros -215
