Seager, Santana power M's
Seattle posted a sixth straight win Tuesday night with an 8-5 triumph at Texas to improve to 47-63 overall and 21-31 on the road. Kyle Seager led the offensive effort as he finished 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored and four RBIs. Domingo Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs. Daniel Vogelbach was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Sam Tuivailala notched the win in relief as he allowed two hits with two strikeouts and no walks over 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Roenis Elias earned his 14th save as he gave up one hit with no strikeouts or walks in a scoreless frame. The Mariners are expected to use Wade LeBlanc as the bulk reliever today as he enters with a 6-3 record, 4.79 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 82 2/3 innings pitched.
Santana homers in defeat
Texas lost an 8-5 decision at home Tuesday night against Seattle to drop to 53-54 overall and 31-22 at home. Danny Santana helped lead the Rangers offensively as he finished 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Willie Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Rougned Odor ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Brett Martin took the loss in relief today as he allowed two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk over two innings. Mike Minor gets the start today for Texas as he comes in with an 8-6 record, 3.00 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 136 strikeouts over 135 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Seattle
The Mariners are 4-0 in their last four games versus a left-handed starter. Seattle is 5-2 in its last seven Wednesday games.
Texas
The Rangers are 3-12 in their last 15 games overall. Texaxs is 0-4 in the last four Minor starts.
Prediction:
The Mariners have been on a roll, although some context is needed in that it beat the MLB-worst Detroit Tigers four games in a row at home. With Minor on the mound today and Seattle struggling against lefties prior to their recent surge, I like the Rangers' chances to end Seattle's streak. LeBlanc has been decent as a bulk reliever, but don't expect him to turn a gem.
