Brewers drop opener

Milwaukee started its road trip with a 3-2 loss to Oakland in 10 innings on Tuesday. The Brewers have lost their last two. The Brewers are 56-52 on the season, 23-28 on the road and 55-49 with the under. Milwaukee has Jordan Lyles getting the start today. He is making his team debut today.

The Brewers never led on Tuesday, but still managed to force extra innings thanks to an Eric Thames solo home run in the ninth inning. Orlando Arcia led Milwaukee at the plate on Tuesday with three hits and a run scored. Adrian Houser got the start and allowed one run over five innings with six strikeouts. Josh Hader took the loss by giving up the lone run in the 10th. He is 1-4 on the year.

Athletics win third straight

Oakland has snapped out of its funk, as the Athletics have won three straight games after Tuesday’s 3-2 victory. The Athletics are now 61-47 on the season, 34-22 at home and 57-51 with the under. Oakland has Brett Anderson getting the start tonight. He is 9-6 on the season with a 4.05 ERA.

Matt Olson hit his 22nd home run in the 10th inning to give the Athletics the victory on Tuesday night. Khris Davis also homered in the win and finished with three hits while Olson finished with two hits and two RBI. Chris Bassitt threw six scoreless innings, but he didn’t take a decision. Blake Treinen got the win in relief by throwing a perfect 10th inning.

MLB Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The Brewers are 3-8 in their last 11 interleague games and 2-9 in their last 11 interleague road games.

Oakland

The Athletics are 9-2 in their last 11 home games and 5-1 in their last six interleague games.

Prediction:

Lyles is coming over from Pittsburgh to make his first start for the Brewers today. He has a 5.36 ERA on the year and has been a bit of a dumpster fire over the last few months. His ERA ballooned from 3.09 to 5.36. Anderson is coming off a bad outing against the Rangers, but has been mostly competitive this year. In night games, Anderson is 7-3 with the 3.29 ERA. I think he has another solid start at home tonight while the Brewers get off to a slow start behind Lyles.

MLB Prediction: Oakland Athletics -125
