Rogers drives in lone run

Detroit lost by a score of 6-1 Tuesday night at Los Angeles to drop to 31-72 overall and 18-36 on the road. Jake Rogers paced the Tigers offense in his MLB debut as he finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Victor Reyes ended the game 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a double. Drew VerHagen took the loss as he surrendered four runs (three earned) on 10 hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 4 2/3 innings. Daniel Norris starts today for Detroit as he enters with a 2-8 record, 4.89 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 106 2/3 innings.

Canning sharp in win

Los Angeles shook off its recent struggles to post a 6-1 home victory Tuesday night over Detroit to improve to 56-53 overall and 29-27 at home. Matt Thaiss paced the Angels offense as he went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Shohei Ohtani finished 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Andrelton Simmons was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. Griffin Canning posted the win on the mound as he gave up four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over six shutout innings. MLB Betting Trends

Detroit

The Tigers are 31-72 in their last 103 road games. Detroit is 5-21 in the last 26 Norris starts.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 6-1 in their last seven Wednesday games. Los Angeles is 36-16 in the last 52 meetings.

Prediction:

Suarez is young and raw, but full of potential as his high strikeout rate suggests. He should fare well against a lackluster Tigers lineup, especially when he should get plenty of run support with Mike Trout and the Angels hitters facing the inconsistent Norris and a weak bullpen. This one has all the writings of another LA victory and if you want to test the runline, feel free to do so.

MLB DAILY PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES ANGELS -186
