Angels' Skaggs strikes out nine in win over White Sox
Tyler Skaggs fanned nine hitters over six two-run innings in a victory over the White Sox on Wednesday. Skaggs was excellent outside of a troublesome fourth inning where he allowed two runs, and one of those runs was unearned. He allowed just four hits, and he put only one runner on via walk. This makes six-of-seven starts that Skaggs has allowed one or fewer earned runs, and Skaggs’ ERA has dropped from 3.60 to 2.68 because of this quality run. His next appearance comes Tuesday against the Rays.
Rays' Stanek allows three runs in two-inning start
Ryne Stanek gave up three runs and took the loss in his two inning start against the Orioles on Saturday. He teed up two gopherballs in the second inning. He served as the "opener" for the Rays again in this one and this was one of the few times he let his team down. He's made 15 starts and 18 relief appearances yet has just 40 2/3 innings pitched on the season. He owns a 1-3 record with a 2.43 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.
MLB Betting Trends

On the other side, the under is 15-4-2 in the Rays' last 21 games versus a left-handed starter, is 9-4-1 in their last 14 home games and is 9-3-1 in their last 13 home games versus a left-handed starter.
