Braves dominating

After a 9-2 win on Friday night, the Braves earned a 15-7 victory over the Phillies on Saturday night. The Braves are 62-43 overall, 32-20 on the road and 52-48 with the over. Kevin Gausman gets the start for the Braves this afternoon. He is 3-5 on the year with a 5.71 ERA.

The Braves put up 13 runs over the first four innings on Saturday’s game to completely blow out the Phillies. They had four home runs and 16 hits in the victory. Ronald Acuna Jr. connected on his 25^th home run of the season and finished with two hits and three RBI. Ozzie Albies drove in four runs in the win while Ender Inciarte had three RBI. Max Fried picked up the win on the mound. He threw 5.1 innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits. He is now 11-4 on the year.

Phillies look to get on track

Philadelphia has been heavily outclassed in this weekend series at home, being outscored by 15 runs in two games. Philly is 54-50 on the season, 30-23 at home and 53-48 with the under. Aaron Nola gets the start this afternoon for the Phillies. He is 8-2 on the year with a 3.64 ERA.

The Philly pitching didn’t hold up on Saturday, as Zach Eflin gave up 10 runs over 2.2 innings to take the loss. He is 7-11 on the year. Ranger Suarez then gave up another four runs over 2.1 innings of work. Philly finished with 12 hits at the plate. Sean Rodriguez had three hits, two RBI and three runs in the loss while J.T. Realmuto and Andrew Knapp each had two RBI.

Prediction:

The Phillies need a boost right now and Nola is the kind of guy that can give it to them. He has pitched really well in the last month, including eight scoreless in Atlanta on July 2. However, Atlanta is clearly in a good groove this weekend and Gausman is coming off arguably his best start of the year. While I don’t think he is going to lock down the Phillies, I do think Atlanta is going to continue to hit the ball. If not off Nola, then off the Philly bullpen. I am going to ride the hot team as the underdog given how one-sided this series has been.
