Ahmed grand slam lifts D-Backs

Arizona crushed host Miami Saturday night by a score of 9-2 to improve to 53-52 overall and 30-26 on the road. Nick Ahmed paced the Diamondbacks offense as he went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a double and five RBIs. Jake Lamb finished 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Eduardo Escobar and David Peralta each went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Alex Young picked up the win on the mound as he gave up two earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk over six innings of work. Robbie Ray gets the start today for Arizona as he enters with a 9-6 record, 3.95 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 162 strikeouts over 123 innings.

Rojas homers in loss

Miami fell 9-2 at home Saturday night versus Arizona to drop to 39-63 overall and 19-33 at home. Miguel Rojas led the Marlins offensively as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Starlin Castro went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Martin Prado was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Jordan Yamamoto took the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts and three walks over four innings. Elieser Hernandez draws the start today for Miami as he comes in with a 1-4 record, 5.24 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 39 strikeouts over 34 1/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Arizona

The Diamondbacks are 10-3 in their last 13 during game three of a series. Arizona is 4-0 in the last four Ray starts.

Miami

The Marlins are 0-4 in their last four Sunday games. Miami is 2-8 in the last 10 Hernandez starts.

Prediction:

Arizona found its offense last night and have a good chance to put up a good number again today against the talented but raw Hernandez. Ray has been in a pretty good groove over his last four starts, although home runs still hurt him. Luckily for Ray, the Marlins don't have an offense packed with power. I think the D-Backs support Ray enough to get the lead early and notch the win this afternoon.
