O's outlast Angels in wild game

Baltimore posted a 10-8 victory in 16 innings Thursday night at Los Angeles to improve to 33-69 overall and 18-33 on the road. Tanner Scott picked up the win in relief despite giving up three earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and three walks over one inning of work. Stevie Wilkerson became the first position player in MLB history to record a save as he threw a perfect 16th inning. Jonathan Villar hit a two-run homer in the top of the 16th to provide the difference. Villar ended the game 2-for-8 with the home run, three stolen bases, two runs scored and two RBIs. Trey Mancini went 1-for-8 with a solo homer. Pedro Severino ended the game 4-for-8 with a double and two runs. Asher Wojciechowski gets the start today for the O's as he enters with a 1-3 record, 3.91 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with with 31 strikeouts over 23 innings.

Angels drop marathon affair

Los Angeles lost 10-8 in 16 innings Thursday night at home versus Baltimore to fall to 54-50 overall and 27-24 at home. Griffin Canning suffered the loss in relief as he allowed five earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk over two innings. Brian Goodwin helped lead the Angels offense as he was 1-for-3 off the bench with a solo home run and a walk. Mike Trout went 3-for-7 off the bench with two doubles, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. David Fletcher finished 2-for-7 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Los Angeles has not decided on a starting pitcher for today's game.

MLB Betting Trends

Baltimore

The Orioles are 84-203 in their last 287 games overall. Baltimore is 16-41 in its last 57 Friday games.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 4-0 in their last four game twos of a series. Los Angeles is 2-7 in its last nine Friday games.

Prediction:

While we don't know who the Angels' starter will be due to Canning being forced into action last night, while the O's will go with Wojciechowski after he was dominant his last start. Whle the O's are big underdogs and their bullpen is cashed, so is the Angels' and at least Baltimore has a fairly trustworthy starting pitcher going. I'm going with my gut and taking the Orioles to win again tonight as big underdogs.
