Harper helps lead Nats to win

Bryce Harper was scratched from the lineup the previous game, but returned Wednesday to sock a 3-run home run in four at-bats to guide Washington to a 7-4 win. Juan Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs. Adam Eaton drew two walks in four plate appearances. Daniel Murphy went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Matt Wieters was 1-for-3 with a run. Tanner Roark earned the win with his best performance of the season, throwing eight shutout innings with three hits allowed plus 11 strikeouts and one walk.

Marlins split against Braves

Miami rolled to a 9-3 victory Tuesday at home over Atlanta to win one out of two in the series. Brian Anderson was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs. J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs and four RBIs. Justin Bour was 1-for-2 with two walks, a run and an RBI. Starlin Castro finished 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Wei-Yin Chen recorded the win as he allowed three earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks over six innings.

Steven Strasburg (6-7, 3.90 ERA) starts today for the Nationals, while Dan Straily (4-4, 4.02) gets the call for the Marlins.

MLB Betting Trends

Washington

The Nationals are 5-14 in their last 19 road games. Washington is 21-7 in the last 28 meetings.

Miami

The under is 18-6-2 in the last 26 meetings in Miami. The Marlins are 4-22 in their last 26 Thursday games.

Prediction:

Washington doesn't have time to waste if it wants to make a run and this stretch before the trade deadline will say a lot about what it intends to do in terms of moves by July 31. Strasburg was poor in his first start back from the DL, but look for him to regain his form here. Miami has random games where the offense busts out, but overall it is underwhelming. Take Washington here.
