Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Kris Bryant went 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI in the Cubs’ loss to the Giants in extra-innings on Tuesday. Bryant put the Cubs on the board with an RBI single to center field in the opening frame and tacked on an additional RBI single in the third inning. He also kick-started their eighth-inning rally with a one-out double and eventually came around to score the tying run later in the frame. It was his ninth three-hit performance in 96 games. The 27-year-old slugger's impressive 2019 campaign seems to be flying completely under the radar right now. He's hitting .299/.406/.556 with 78 runs scored, 20 home runs, 49 RBI and two stolen bases in 424 plate appearances.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Pablo Sandoval slugged a solo homer in the bottom of the 13th inning to propel the Giants to a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Cubs in extra-innings on Tuesday. Sandoval golfed an opposite-field solo shot, which barely cleared the outstretched glove of Cubs left fielder Robel Garcia, and landed just over the wall in left field to end the marathon extra-inning affair. It was his lone hit in six at-bats. The Giants stunning second-half surge continues. They’ve won 11 of 13 games since the All-Star break and are 16-3 overall since July 1. They are just two games out of a Wild Card spot and likely won't be selling at the major-league trade deadline next week.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The Cubs are now 7-19 in their last 26 road games.
San Francisco
The Giants are 7-1 in their last eight home games and have won 19 of their last 26 games overall.
Prediction:
The Giants have some serious magic going on right now but I do like the Cubs to avoid the sweep with a victory today. The Cubs are 36-16 in Jon Lester’s last 52 starts and are 4-1 in his last five outings versus the Giants. Chicago has won seven of its last 10 games after dropping the first two games of a series, too.
The Pick: Cubs/Giants UNDER 8.5
