Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich cleared the bases with a triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to increase the hosts' advantage to 6-1, which is the score in which the game would eventually end. Keon Broxton finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base. Travis Shaw was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and Tyler Saladinoa run. Erik Kratz drew a walk, scored a run and had two RBIs in four plate appearances. Jhoulys Chacin earned the as he allowed one earned run on two hits with nine strikeouts and no walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Gio Gonzalez took the loss as he allowed five earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and five walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Washington has been dreadful on the road and generally has looked lethargic much of the season. Hellickson has been good on the mound, but did have an implosion at Miami so he certainly isn't perfect. Guerra has had a strong season and although there might be some regression coming, he should navigate through a Nats offense that has been more bark than bite on the road.
