Diamondbacks' Buchholz set to return on Tuesday vs. Cubs

Clay Buchholz (oblique) will return from the disabled list to start for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday against the Cubs. That had been the plan after Buchholz pitched well in his minor league rehab start on Thursday, and nothing has happened to disrupt that. The 33-year-old right-hander has been outstanding in seven starts for the Snakes, going 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 31/7 K/BB ratio over 38 2/3 innings. A matchup against the Cubs, though, isn't very appealing from a fantasy perspective.

Cubs' Hendricks allows nine hits, three runs vs. Cardinals

Kyle Hendricks allowed nine hits and three runs over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Cardinals. Hendricks gave up single runs in the first, second and fifth innings, bending but never breaking despite allowing baserunners throughout his outing. Unfortunately for the right-hander, he couldn't get that final out in the fifth inning, depriving him of the chance to pick up the win after the Cubs plated five runs in the bottom of the frame. He remains 6-8 overall with a 3.99 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Hendricks will square off with the Diamondbacks next, on Tuesday.
