Twins drop another
The Twins really have blown a big chance, losing the first two games in this series to lowly Kansas City. Minnesota is now 44-52 overall and 15-30 on the road. The Twins are putting up 4.49 runs per game this season while allowing 4.76 per contest.
Jake Odorizzi takes the mound for the Twins this afternoon. He is making his 21st start of the season today and comes in with a 4-6 record. Odorizzi also has a 4.54 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP. He has pitched a total of 101.0 innings this year and has 105 strikeouts with 45 walks.
Royals get rare win at home
The Royals have managed two wins to open this series, picking up a 4-2 victory on Saturday. KC is now 29-68 overall and 13-35 at home. The Royals are scoring just 3.58 runs per game this season while giving up 5.54 per contest.
Brad Keller will get the start for the Royals on Sunday. He has appeared in 29 games and started eight this year. He has a 2-4 record with a 3.13 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. Keller has recorded 36 strikeouts and 27 walks over 63.1 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins have won five of their last seven Sunday games, but they are just 7-19 in their last 26 on the road.
Kansas City
The Royals have lost seven straight Sunday games and they are 1-6 in Keller’s last seven starts.
Prediction:
Neither team is very trustworthy, but I worry about Keller’s length on the mound today. He isn’t used to really having to go deep into a game, but he probably will have to if Kansas City is going to win. The Royals don’t have a bullpen to rely on and Odorizzi is someone capable of locking up the KC hitters. I have a hard time believing the Twins can’t win a single game in this series.
The Pick: Minnesota Twins -140
