Indians edge Rangers
The Indians edged the Rangers in Friday’s series opener, 9-8. The Tribe have won three of their last four games entering Saturday. Cleveland is 53-43 overall and 22-24 on the road. The Indians are putting up 5.17 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.30 per contest.
The Indians hand the ball to Carlos Carrasco tonight. He has started 17 games this year and has an 11-5 record with a 4.12 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. Carrasco has 112 strikeouts and 23 walks through 102.2 innings of work.
Rangers fall again
The Rangers have suffered their third straight loss and sixth loss in seven games in the 9-8 fall to the Indians. Texas is 41-57 overall and 19-29 at home. The Rangers are putting up 4.41 runs per game this season while allowing 5.06 runs per contest.
Bartolo Colon will start for the Rangers on Saturday night. He is making his 18th start of the year and he comes in with a 5-7 record, 4.64 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Colon has 62 strikeouts and 17 walks over 106.2 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won five straight road games and 60 of their last 80 against losing teams. They also have won 11 of their last 16 following a win.
Texas
The Rangers are 4-1 in Colon’s last five home starts and 2-8 in their last 10 games against a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
Colon has given the Rangers about as much as they could ask for, but he has been pretty steady at giving up multiple runs. I don’t think he is going to have a great outing against Cleveland tonight. Carrasco gets the strikeouts, but still gives up some runs. I could see this being a close game, but I trust the Cleveland pen more than the Texas one.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -175
