White Sox lose seventh in a row

Chicago fell by a count of 6-5 Thursday afternoon at Kansas City to drop to 42-51 overall and 17-31 on the road. Yoan Moncada led the White Sox offensively as he finished 3-for-5 with a solo home run  and two runs scored. Jose Abreu completed the contest 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Ryan Cordell went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Ryan Detwiler suffered the loss as he allowed five earned runs on eight hits over 2 1/3 innings, striking out one and walking one. Reynaldo Lopez draws the start tonight as he enters with a 4-8 record, 5.97 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 93 strikeouts over 104 innings.

Rays struggle at Yankees

Tampa Bay lost for a third straight time at New York Thursday as it fell by a score of 5-1 to drop to 56-43 overall and 30-21 on the road. Nate Lowe helped lead the Rays offense as he was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Joey Wendle went 1-for-3 plus a walk. Tommy Pham was 0-for-2 with three walks and a run scored. Charlie Morton suffered the loss as he allowed five earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and four walks over 5 2/3 innings. MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The White Sox are 6-1 in their last seven games on astroturf. Chicago is 3-7 in the last 10 Lopez road starts.

Tampa Bay

The Rays are 4-1 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter. Tampa Bay is 51-22 in its last 73 games versus a team with a losing record.

Prediction:

Lopez isn't likely to have much success here as he's struggled all season and goes up against a squad that has lefties who can do damage in the lineup. The highly hyped McKay has been solid in his first three MLB starts and should turn another strong start today. Tampa Bay will want to get the sour taste from the last few days in New York out of its collective mouths and have a struggling Chicago team to take the frustrations out on.

MLB DAILY PREDICTION: TAMPA BAY RAYS -240
