The Padres took the first game of their series versus the Phillies on Friday night and with Blake Snell on the hill tonight, will San Diego also claim victory on Saturday when it takes on Philly at 1:05 p.m. ET?

San Diego Padres DFS SPIN
Juan Soto hit a two-run homer and walked versus the Phillies on Friday. The Padres’ big four of Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and Gary Sánchez all homered tonight. OK, fine, it was supposed to be Xander Bogaerts instead of Sánchez, but those are the four players with the highest slugging percentages on the team. Soto has 16 homers on the year, so he has a shot at reaching 30 for the second time in his career.
Philadelphia Phillies DFS SPIN
Trea Turner finished 0-for-5 with three strikeouts versus the Padres in Friday’s loss. Turner has a 21/1 K/BB ratio in 59 plate appearances over his last 13 games. There’s still time for him to come alive, but with his OBP having hovered right around .300 for months now, Turner deserves to be dropped in the Phillies lineup.

Padres vs. Phillies MLB BETTING PREDICTION
I’m taking the Padres to win Game 1 of this series. Their offense has been excellent over their last 10 games, posting a wRC+ of 131, which ranks fourth in all of baseball in that category. Snell has been unhittable at times this season, too. In 18 starts that span 98 innings, he owns a 2.85 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP and has struck out 132 on the season. He’s putting together an outstanding 2023 in the midst of a contract year. The -130 price isn’t bad for the Padres, either.
