Kepler homers twice in win

Minnesota outfielder Max Kepler ran his streak of consecutive at-bats with a home run off Cleveland starting pitcher Trevor Bauer to five with two homers Saturday afternoon in a 6-2 road victory. Kepler finished 2-for-5 with the two solo home runs. Jake Cave went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBIs. Jorge Polanco ended the game 3-for-5 with a run scored. Jake Odorizzi picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on three hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking two. Jose Berrios draws the start this afternoon with an 8-5 record, 3.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 104 strikeouts over 117 innings.

Ramirez, Bradley homer in loss

Cleveland fell by a score of 6-2 Saturday afternoon at home against Minnesota to drop to 50-40 overall and 25-20 at home. Bobby Bradley helped pace the Indians offense as he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Jose Ramirez finished 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Greg Allen was 1-for-1 before being lifted for a pinch hitter. Trevor Bauer took the loss as allowed three earned runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks over six innings. Shane Bieber gets the start tonight for Cleveland as he comes in with an 8-3 record, 3.45 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with 141 strikeouts over 112 1/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Twins are 0-4 in their last four Sunday games. Minnesota is 1-4 in the last five Berrios starts.

The Indians are 4-0 in their last four Sunday games. Cleveland is 7-3 in the last 10 Bieber starts.

The trends show a wager on Cleveland might be the right play, but often it's smart to buck the trends as things tend to even out over time anyway. Berrios is certainly no pushover of a pitcher and the Twins are playing the better ball coming into the series finale. Getting a road sweep on the heels of the All-Star Break and going ahead in the division by 8.5 games would be huge. Bieber is really good, but Minnesota has seen him and he isn't perfect. Taking a shot on the Twins this afternoon.
