Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Nick Ahmed blasted a two-run homer on Sunday, powering the Diamondbacks to a 5-3 victory over the Rockies. Ahmed crushed a two-run homer off of German Marquez in the sixth inning, increasing the D'Backs' edge to 5-0. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. He finishes the first half hitting .262/.311/.429 with nine homers and 39 RBI.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said Yadier Molina could miss up to three weeks with his thumb injury. Shildt wouldn't fully commit to that timetable, but acknowledged that the veteran backstop will need at least 10 days to recover and additional time to "rebuild" following a recent setback to his strained thumb. With Molina looking doubtful to play this month, fill-in catcher Matt Wieters should be worth a speculative add in most fantasy leagues.
