Baez, Lester guide Cubs to win

The Cubs picked up a 6-3 victory at the White Sox Saturday night to improve to 47-42 overall and 18-26 on the road. Javier Baez helped lead the way as he finished 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Kris Bryant was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Kyle Schwarber ended the game 1-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Jon Lester picked up the win as he gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks over 6 1/3 innings. Craig Kimbrel earned the save as he struck out three and walked one in a scoreless inning of relief. Kyle Hendricks will start today for the Cubs as he enters with a 7-6 record, 3.45 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 79 strikeouts over 91 1/3 innings. 

Giolito struggles in defeat

The White Sox were doubled up at home by the Cubs Saturday night to the tune of 6-3. All-Star Lucas Giolito was hit hard in the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts and five walks over four innings. Yoan Moncada paced the White Sox offense as he ended the game 2-for-3 with two doubles, two walks, two runs and an RBI. Jose Abreu finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs. James McCann and Yolmer Sanchez each finished 1-for-4. Ivan Nova takes the mound today as he comes in with a 3-7 record, 5.92 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 62 strikeouts over 92 1/3 innings.
