Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin
Rougned Odor homered twice and drove in five runs to help the Rangers down the Angels 9-3 on Thursday. Odor crushed a Griffin Canning off-speed pitch into the second deck in Arlington for a two-run homer in the fourth inning, and then he hit a 471-foot shot to right-center in the seventh inning for a three-run blast. The homers gave him 12 long balls on the year, and he's got 43 RBI and 38 runs scored despite a .191/.259/.389 line. Such is life with the contact-challenged-yet-immensely-talented 25-year-old.
Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Schoop went 3-for-5 with a homer, two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored in a 15-6 blowout of the Rangers on Friday. Schoop hit one of four homers in this one for the Twins, and it gives the second baseman 14 on the season. It was a two-run blast for the second baseman, and he drove in another two with a two-run double in the seventh inning. The former Orioles -- and for a very short time Brewers -- second baseman has now plated 38 runs, and he improves his slash to .260/.307/.473. The average and on-base percentage aren't great, but that power is tough to complain about, especially from someone playing up the middle.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 1-5 in their last six games.
Minnesota
The Twins have won 36 of their last 52 games at home.
Prediction:
The Rangers are 4-1 in Jesse Chavez’s last five starts and have won five of their last six road games when facing a right-handed starter. On the other side, the Twins have lost four out of their last five games following a win and are just 1-4 in Michael Pineda’s last five starts when facing an opponent with a winning record.
