Indians rolling
Cleveland is riding a four-game win streak after a sweep of the Royals in Kansas City this week. The Indians are 48-38 overall, 23-20 on the road and 47-37 with the under. Cleveland has Shane Bieber getting the start today. He is 7-3 on the season with a 3.54 ERA.
The Tribe have been one of the stronger pitching staffs in the league this year, posting a 4.00 team ERA with a 1.23 team WHIP. Offensively, Cleveland is putting up 4.40 runs per game while hitting .241 as a team. Carlos Santana is leading the team with 16 doubles, 19 home runs and 52 RBI. Jose Ramirez is adding 14 doubles, 33 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
Reds heating up
Cincinnati is riding a three-game win streak and the Reds have won four of their last five coming into today. The Reds are 41-44 on the season, 24-19 at home and 54-29 with the under. Cincy has Anthony DeSclafani getting the start today. He is 5-4 on the season with a 4.35 ERA.
The Reds have a solid pitching staff this year, as they have a 3.65 team ERA with a 1.23 team WHIP. Offensively, Cincinnati is putting up 4.29 runs per game while hitting .237 as a team. Eugenio Suarez is leading the team right now with 16 doubles, 20 home runs and 54 RBI. Yasiel Puig is adding 19 home runs, 49 RBI and 13 stolen bases.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won four straight road games and seven of their last eight games following a day off.
Cincinnati
The Reds are 9-2 in their last 11 home games and 4-0 in their last four interleague home games.
Prediction:
Bieber is pitching pretty well right now. He is coming off eight shutout innings against the Orioles and has allowed just six earned runs over his last 27 innings of work. He also has 37 strikeouts with just three walks during that time. DeSclafani has actually been solid as well. Outside of a poor showing in Milwaukee, he has allowed just one run or less in four of his last five starts. Still, he doesn’t work deep into games. I feel better about Bieber being able to get the job done today.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -135
