New York Mets DFS Notes
Dominic Smith belted a pair of solo homers on Thursday in the Mets' loss to the Braves. Smith trimmed the Mets' deficit to a single run with a solo shot to right-center field off righty Ian Anderson leading off the seventh inning, and also added a game-tying solo tater to right field against lefty closer Will Smith in the ninth inning. The multi-homer effort represented the first time he's left the yard since June 16. The 26-year-old outfielder owns a .249/.319/.384 triple-slash line with 24 runs scored, eight homers, 31 RBI and two steals across 273 plate appearances.
New York Yankees DFS Notes
Aroldis Chapman walked three and gave up his first ever grand slam Wednesday against the Angels. Chapman entered with a four-run lead in the ninth, so it wasn't a save situation, meaning he wasn't charged with a blown save on one of the worst nights of his career. Chapman just couldn't locate his fastball tonight, and when he threw Jared Walsh a get-me-over-slider on a 1-0 count, Walsh yanked it out of the park to tie the game. Chapman has given up 11 runs in 5 2/3 innings in his last eight appearances. He was incredibly dominant prior to this run, and he'll probably figure things out soon enough. Perhaps the Yankees could give him a brief break from the closer's role, though, and go to Chad Green and Jonathan Loaisiga for a spell.
