Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers, the Nationals are the favorite at home today, as they are getting odds of -200 to win. The Marlins are listed with a money line of +175 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 9 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 64 percent going on the Marlins on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Marlins hit the road

Miami is coming off a six-game homestand where it went 2-4, including three losses at home to the Nationals. The Marlins are 32-50 overall, 17-21 on the road and 40-38 with the under. Miami has Zac Gallen getting the start tonight. He is 0-1 on the season with a 3.60 ERA.

The Marlins are struggling at the plate this season, posting 3.65 runs per game while hitting .239 as a team. On the mound, Miami isn’t too bad. The Marlins have a 4.39 team ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. Brian Anderson is leading the team with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 38 RBI while Starlin Castro has 10 doubles, five home runs and 33 RBI.

Nats heating up

Washington has won five of its last six after series wins over the Marlins and the Tigers on the road. The Nationals are now 42-41 on the season, 21-19 at home and 42-35 with the over. Washington has Patrick Corbin getting the start today. He is 7-5 on the season with a 3.71 ERA.

The Nationals are averaging 4.99 runs per game at the plate this year while hitting .253 as a team. On the mound, Washington has a 4.57 team ERA with a 1.31 team WHIP. Anthony Rendon has been leading the team this season with 21 doubles, 19 home runs and 58 RBI. Juan Soto is adding 15 doubles, 14 home runs and 52 RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Miami

The Marlins are 22-47 in their last 69 road games and 7-20 in their last 27 Tuesday games.

Washington

The Nationals have won four straight series openers and 10 of their last 11 home games against a team with a losing road record.

Prediction:

Miami has some good pitching, but Gallen has only thrown 10 innings this year. They have been 10 respectable innings, but he doesn’t have a lot of run support behind him in that Miami lineup. Corbin is pitching really well right now, including seven strong against Miami last week. I like the Nationals to continue their hot streak at home against this weak Marlins team.

MLB Prediction: Washington Nationals -200
