Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Eduardo Escobar went 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead the Diamondbacks to a 4-3 win over the Giants on Saturday. Escobar recorded three hits, all singles, including a go-ahead RBI knock to left-center field with two outs in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old third baseman continues to tear the cover off the ball lately, recording at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. He owns a 291/.350/.543 triple-slash line with 55 runs scored, 18 home runs, 64 RBI and three stolen bases across 363 plate appearances. No matter how you slice the data, Escobar grades out as a truly elite fantasy hitter this season.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Stephen Vogt went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer in the Giants’ loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Vogt plated the Giants lone runs of the contest with a gargantuan three-run blast to right field off Diamondbacks closer Greg Holland in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, their comeback bid fell just short in a narrow, one-run defeat. The 34-year-old veteran backstop also singled to notch his seventh multi-hit effort in 38 games this season. He’s worthy of a roster spot in deeper two-catcher formats.
