Scherzer shines again

A pair of three-run innings and another fantastic outing from Max Scherzer sent Washington to a 6-1 victory Tuesday night at Miami. Scherzer allowed one earned run on five hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks over eight innings to notch the win. Scherzer also helped his own cause by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Trea Turner ended the contest 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Juan Soto finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Anthony Rendon went 2-for-4 and a run scored. Patrick Corbin gets the start today as he enters with a 6-5 record, 3.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 102 strikeouts over 92 1/3 innings.

Granderson drives in lone run

Miami fell by a count of 5-1 at home Tuesday night against Washington to drop to 30-47 overall and 13-26 at home. Curtis Granderson helped lead the Marlins as he ended the game 1-for-3 with an RBI. Miguel Rojas went 2-for-3 with a double. Brian Anderson finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Trevor Richards took the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Zac Gallen draws the start today for Miami as he enters with an 0-0 record, 1.80 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with six strikeouts over five innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Washington

The Nationals are 4-0 in their last four Wednesday games. Washington is 0-4 in the last four Corbin road starts.

Miami

The Marlins are 4-1 in their last five games. Miami is 2-9 in its last 11 home games.

Prediction:

Corbin hadn't been in the best of form, but rebounded with a fantastic outing his last time out at home versus Philadelphia. With Miami's offense nothing to write home about, he should excel again. Gallen has a ton of promise, but he's a rookie and might have to be close to perfect. Expect Gallen and/or the bullpen to falter in a Nationals win.
