Royals fall in 10 innings

Kansas City lost by a count of 3-2 in 10 innings Monday night at Cleveland to drop to 27-52 overall and 11-27 on the road. Whit Merrifield helped pace the Royals offense as he ended the game 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Nicky Lopez went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Cheslor Cuthbert ended the game 1-for-3 with a walk. Wily Peralta took the loss in relief as he surrendered a home run to the only batter he faced. Glenn Sparkman takes the mound tonight for KC as he enters with a 2-3 record, 3.62 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 27 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings.

Kipnis hits walk-off home run

Jason Kipnis hit a walk-off home run Monday night to lead off the bottom of the 10th inning to send Cleveland to a 3-2 home victory over Kansas City. Kipnis finished the game 3-for-5 with the solo homer. Jose Ramirez was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks, a run and an RBI. Bobby Bradley ended the contest 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Brad Hand picked up the win in relief as he struck out one in a perfect inning. Shane Bieber draws the start tonight as he comes in with a 6-3 record, 3.86 ERA and 1.08 ERA with 116 strikeouts over 91 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are 25-52 in their last 77 games overall. Kansas City is 1-4 in the last five Sparkman starts.

The Indians are 4-0 in their last Tuesday games. Cleveland is 5-1 in its last six home games.

Cleveland has the definite pitching advantage here and a couple bats appear to be heating up such as Ramirez. The Royals have struggled on the road all season and I foresee another uphill battle here. Take the Indians at home behind what should be a strong Bieber outing.
