Royals salvage split with Twins

Kansas City cruised to a 6-1 home victory Sunday afternoon over Minnesota to take two out of four games in the series. Hunter Dozier paced the Royals offense as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Alex Gordon was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and two RBIs. Billy Hamilton finished 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and a run scored. Homer Bailey picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk over 5 1/3 innings. Brad Keller will start tonight for KC as he enters with a 3-9 record, 4.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 68 strikeouts over 97 innings pitched.

Indians win third straight over Tigers

Cleveland picked up an 8-3 home victory Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game sweep over Detroit. A five-run second inning put the Indians ahead 5-1 and the hosts rolled from there. Carlos Santana helped pace the Cleveland offense as he ended the contest 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored. Jason Kipnis finished 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Francisco Lindor was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Jose Ramirez completed the game 2-for-4 and scored two RBIs. Zach Plesac earned the win as he gave up one earned run on five hits with two strikeouts and a walk over seven innings. Adam Plutko gets the start tonight as he comes in with a 3-1 record, 4.55 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 22 strikeouts over 27 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are 25-51 in their last 76 games overall. Kansas City is 1-10 in the last 11 Keller starts.

Cleveland

The Indians are 6-1 in the last seven Plutko starts. Cleveland is 0-5 in its last five Monday games.

Prediction:

Keller has been a disappointment this season for the Royals and I don't like his chances on the road here against an Indians team trying to make up ground in the AL Central standings. Cleveland's offense seems to be hitting its stride and Plutko has been a serviceable starting pitcher this month. I'm taking Cleveland here without hesitation.
