Braves playing well

The Atlanta Braves are coming off a series win at Washington this weekend and they have won seven of their last 10 games. Atlanta is 46-32 overall, 22-15 on the road and 44-31 with the over. Julio Teheran is taking the mound tonight. He is 5-5 on the season with a 3.40 ERA.

Atlanta has been great at the plate this season, averaging 5.47 runs per game while hitting .266 as a team. On the mound, the Braves have a 4.23 team ERA with a 1.37 team WHIP. Freddie Freeman is leading the team with 21 doubles, 21 home runs and 61 RBI while Ronald Acuna Jr. has 10 doubles, 18 home runs and 50 RBI.

Cubs treading water

Chicago is coming off a six-game homestand last week and the Cubs went 3-3 over the six games. Chicago is now 42-35 overall, 27-14 at home and 40-35 with the over. The Cubs have Jon Lester getting the start this evening. He is 6-5 on the season with a 4.13 ERA.

The Cubs have been a great pitching team. Chicago has a 3.91 team ERA with a 1.32 team WHIP while averaging 5.05 runs per game at the plate with a .252 batting average. Chicago is being led by Anthony Rizzo, who has 12 doubles, 19 home runs and 54 RBI. Javier Baez is adding 18 doubles, 19 home runs and 51 RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Atlanta

The Braves are 5-1 in their last six road games and 8-2 in their last 10 against winning teams.

Chicago

The Cubs are 9-4 in their last 13 home games and 15-2 in Lester’s last 17 Monday starts.

Prediction:

Teheran is coming off a six-run outing over four innings against the Mets, but he had been lights out prior to that. Lester has allowed at least three runs in three straight starts, and has given up 13 runs over his last 16.2 innings. The Braves have the hitting to really capitalize on any mistakes Lester makes. Teheran, I think, will bounce back from the outing against the Mets and help Atlanta pick up another victory.

MLB Prediction: Atlanta Braves +115
