Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he's hopeful Mookie Betts (illness) can play on Wednesday. Betts was battling a bit of a stomach bug before and during Tuesday night's game against the Padres, which prompted his removal in the sixth inning, but this illness doesn't seem to be a serious concern. It's a night game again Wednesday between the two division rivals, so Betts will have some time for rest and treatment.
San Diego Padres DFS Spin
Jake Cronenworth crushed a two-run homer on Tuesday, leading the Padres to a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers. Cronenworth set the tone early with a two-run shot to right-center field -- his off legendary southpaw Clayton Kershaw in the opening frame. The 27-year-old second baseman has gone deep four times in his last seven games and became the first left-handed batter to take Kershaw deep this season.
Dodgers vs. Padres Betting Prediction
The Dodgers are just 1-6 in their last seven meetings with the Padres and have lost five straight games as a road underdog. The Padres, meanwhile, are 6-0 in their last six games overall, are 5-0 in their last five games coming off a win and are 10-1 in their last 11 games versus an opponent with a team with a winning percentage above .600.
