White Sox fall at crosstown rivals

The White Sox lost 7-3 Wednesday night at the Cubs to split the two game-series and fall to 35-37 overall and 15-20 on the road. Leury Garcia helped pace the offense as he went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Yoan Moncada finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. James McCann was 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Lucas Giolito took the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts and three walks over 4 1/3 innings. Reynaldo Lopez draws the start tonight for Chicago as he enters with a 4-7 record, 6.31 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with 76 strikeouts over 81 1/3 innings.

Rangers split with Indians 

Texas won 4-2 at home Thursday afternoon in its series finale at home against Cleveland to take two out of the four games. Danny Santana helped lead the Rangers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored. Elvis Andrus went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Delino DeShields Jr. was 2-for-3 with a double. Mike Minor picked up the win as he gave up one earned run on three hits over eight innings, striking out four and walking three. Ariel Jurado will start tonight for Texas as he enters with a 4-3 record, 4.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 34 strikeouts over 44 1/3 innings.

Texas has been playing great baseball at home and Lopez can't find any consistency despite having good stuff. Jurado is still coming into his own as an MLB pitcher, but he should get enough run support and help from the bullpen to carry the Rangers to the win here.
