Angels roll again

Los Angeles has won the first three games in this series to get over the .500 mark thanks to an 11-6 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The Angels are 38-37 on the season, 19-19 on the road and 35-34 with the under. Jose Suarez is getting the start tonight. He is 2-1 on the season with a 4.50 ERA.

The Angels piled up 11 runs on 16 hits, thanks in part to the Blue Jays committing three errors. Mike Trout homered twice and drove in seven runs to lead the Angels in the win. He now has 22 home runs and 56 RBI. Justin Upton hit his second home run as well, another solo shot. Andrew Heaney pitched just 3.2 innings and gave up five runs to earn a no-decision. Noe Ramirez got the win in relief, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings. He has three wins.

Blue Jays can’t get on track

Toronto was unable to handle the Los Angeles pitching on Wednesday, suffering the 5-run loss at home. Toronto is 26-48 on the season, 12-25 at home and 36-35 with the under. Clayton Richard is getting the start tonight. He is 0-3 on the season with a 7.52 ERA.

The Blue Jays didn’t ever get off to a good start as Aaron Sanchez allowed seven runs over 3.2 innings to fall to 3-9 on the season. Toronto had six hits at the plate and Rowdy Tellez had two hits with four RBI thanks to a pair of home runs. He has 13 home runs on the season. Eric Sogard drove in the other two runs and had two hits.

Richard has struggled lately, allowing 12 runs over his last 7.2 innings. I think he will continue to struggle against this Los Angeles lineup that has been doing a good job of hitting the ball this series.
