Royals dominate in shutout fashion

Kansas City rolled to a 9-0 victory Tuesday night at Seattle to improve to 25-48 overall and 11-25 on the road. Whit Merrifield had a big night for the Royals as he finished 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and six RBIs. Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo homer plus a walk. Nicky Lopez ended the contest 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Homer Bailey picked up the win as he allowed five hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 7 2/3 shutout innings. Brad Keller will start tonight for KC as he enters with a 3-6 record, 3.97 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 93 innings.

M's unable to mount offense

Seattle was shellacked 9-0 at home Tuesday night against Kansas City to drop to 31-46 overall and 13-24 at home. Tom Murphy and Omar Narvaez both finished 1-for-4 with a double. Daniel Vogelbach went 0-for-2 but drew a pair of walks. Yusei Kikuchi took the loss as he allowed six earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Marco Gonzales will draw the start today for the Mariners as he comes in with a 7-6 record, 4.50 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 62 strikeouts over 90 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are 23-48 in their last 71 games overall. Kansas City is 1-6 in the last seven Keller road starts.

Seattle

The Mariners are 15-38 in their last 53 games overall. Seattle is 0-4 in the last four Gonzales home starts.

Prediction:

Seattle looks checked out right now and who can blame them following the recent trades of Jay Bruce and Edwin Encarnacion? Gonzales has been disappointing following a strong start to the season and KC is actually playing some good baseball right now. I'm going to try and ride if for another day. Going with KC in this spot.
