Phillies rally in ninth
Cesar Hernandez hit a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the ninth inning Saturday night in a 6-5 victory at Atlanta. Hernandez ended the contest 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to help lead the offense. Scott Kingery went 3-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs. J.T. Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins each finished 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Edubray Ramos picked up the win in relief as he allowed one hit and struck out one while walking none in a scoreless inning. Hector Neris threw a spotless inning for his 15th save. The Phillies have not decided on their starting pitcher for Sunday.
Braves have eight-game win streak snapped
Atlanta gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday night as it lost for the first time in nine games by a count of 6-5 at home against Philadelphia. Josh Donaldson paced the Braves offensively as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Ronald Acuna Jr. finished 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Austin Riley finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Luke Jackson took the loss in relief as he surrendered two unearned runs on two hits with no strikeouts or walks over one inning. Mike Foltynewicz will start today for the Braves as he enters with a 1-5 record, 6.02 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 42 strikeouts over 49 1/3 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 1-6 during their last game threes of a series. Philadelphia is 3-6 in its last nine road games.
Atlanta
The Braves are 7-1 in their last eight home games. Atlanta is 23-9 in its last 32 games overall.
Prediction:
It's hard to predict without knowing the Phillies' starting pitcher, but Foltynewicz is seemingly trending in the right direction but needs to limit his walks and home runs allowed. The Braves have been playing extremely well and they should support Foltynewicz enough today to take the series finale.
