Cleveland Indians DFS Spin

Jean Carlos Mejia pitched well in his first big league start on Friday, allowing just one hit and a walk over three scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Orioles. The right-hander punched out two on the evening, throwing 33 of his 50 pitches for strikes. Mejia had been working as a starter at Triple-A Columbus, but it's unclear if the plan now will be for him to remain in the rotation, or go back to being the long man in the Indians' bullpen. Either way, it's unlikely that he makes much of an impact in mixed leagues this season.

St. Louis Cardinals DFS Spin

Adam Wainwright surrendered three runs over seven innings on Thursday in a loss the Reds. Wainwright held the Reds to a single run in the opening frame, but needed 27 pitches to do it. He also served up a two-run homer to Jesse Winker in the second inning. He managed to lock in after that, keeping the Reds off the scoreboard over his final five frames. The 39-year-old veteran right-hander has experienced some pullback from a run prevention standpoint in recent weeks, but he's a viable streaming option for fantasy managers in favorable matchups moving forward. He'll carry a respectable 4.19 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 61/19 K/BB ratio across 66 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a road tilt against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Friday.

Indians vs. Cardinals Betting Prediction

The Indians are 8-3 in their last 11 games as an underdog, are 51-23 in their last 74 games played on Wednesday and are 4-0 in their last four games as a road underdog. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are 0-4 in their last four games as a home favorite, have dropped six straight and are 3-10 in their last 12 games versus an opponent with a winning record.
