Kepler homers three times
Max Kepler homered three times Thursday night, all off Trevor Bauer, to help lead Minnesota to a 5-4 victory at Cleveland. Kepler ended the contest 4-for-4 with the three home runs plus a walk and four RBIs. Mitch Garver finished 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Willians Astudillo was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Jose Berrios picked up the win as he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits with six strikeouts and one walk over six innings. Tigers stumble in series finale
Detroit went meekly Thursday afternoon in its series finale at home versus Tampa Bay as it fell 6-1. Brandon Dixon helped lead the way as he finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Christin Stewart ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double. Nicholas Castellanos went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Daniel Norris suffered the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and one walk over 5 2/3 innings. MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins are 4-0 in their last four Friday games. Minnesota is 46-20 in its last 66 games overall.
Detroit
The Tigers are 7-19 in their last 26 games overall. Detroit is 7-19 in its last 26 home games.
Prediction:
This is an interesting game to forecast because Boyd has the stuff to shut down any opposing offense and has been particularly good at home. With the Twins still deciding on their starting pitcher, I'm going to lean Detroit here. Sure, the Twins are much better and having a fantastic season but they also have some cushion built up and the Tigers shouldn't need to score a lot to support Boyd. Taking the home dogs tonight.
