Riley, Davidson power Braves

Atlanta cruised to a 12-5 victory Tuesday night at Pittsburgh to improve to 33-27 overall and 17-12 on the road. Josh Donaldson helped pace the offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a home run, two walks, two runs scored and three RBIs. Austin Riley finished 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three runs and three RBIs. Freddie Freeman went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs. Dan Winkler picked up the win in relief as he struck out one in a perfect inning of relief. Kevin Gausman draws the start tonight for the Braves as he enters with a 2-4 record, 5.56 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 56 strikeouts over 58 innings.

Pirates blow lead

Pittsburgh led 5-2 Tuesday night at home versus Atlanta before giving up 10 runs over the final four innings to fall 12-5. Melky Cabrera ended the contest 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs in the defeat. Starling Marte was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs. Cole Tucker ended the contest 1-for-3 with a double, two walks and two RBIs. Kyle Crick suffered the loss in relief as he surrendered three runs (two earned) on one hit with one strikeout and two walks over two-thirds of an inning. Joe Musgrove gets the call for Pittsburgh tonight as he comes in with a 3-6 record, 4.57 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 51 strikeouts over 65 innings.

Prediction:

The Braves' offense has been cooking as of late and they shouldn't have much issue getting to Musgrove here on the road. Gausman was brutal in his last start, but he has a tendency to bounce back and his numbers look worse than he's pitched this season. I'm taking the Braves to win another one tonight.
