Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Nolan Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo homer to power the Rockies to a 5-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday. Arenado wasted no time extending his hitting streak to 13 games with a single to left field in the opening frame. He also walloped a 432-foot solo homer -- his 16th round-tripper of the season -- off Blue Jays' reliever Justin Shafer in the seventh inning. The 28-year-old third baseman has been one of the most consistent fantasy producers over the last decade and owns a surreal .345/.395/.638 triple-slash line with 47 runs scored and 52 RBI across 256 plate appearances this season. He's even chipped in a stolen base for good measure.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Javier Baez homered and drove in three runs in the Cubs' win over the Angels on Monday. Baez plated a run on a fielder's choice and another on a double before taking reliever Luis Garcia deep with a laser just over the wall in left field in the seventh inning. The shortstop has been scuffling at the plate a bit lately while battling through a nagging heel injury, so this was a nice step in the right direction.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 7-0 in their last seven games following a win.
Chicago
The Cubs are 15-7 in their last 22 home games.
Prediction:
Jeff Hoffman will start tonight for the Rockies and while he has struggled, I’m going to roll the dice on a red-hot Colorado team. The Rockies are currently on an eight-game winning streak, are 6-0 in their last six games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game and have beaten the Cubs in seven of the last nine meetings at Wrigley Field. Meanwhile, the Cubs are just 1-4 in Kyle Hendricks’ last five starts versus the Rockies.
