Frazier, Smith homer in loss

New York lost 6-5 in 11 innings Saturday night at Arizona to drop to 28-30 overall and 13-21 on the road. Dominic Smith helped pace the offense as he finished 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Todd Frazier was 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks and two RBIs. Pete Alonso ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Tyler Bashlor suffered the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with no strikeouts and one walk over one-third of an inning. Steven Matz draws the start this afternoon as he enters with a 4-3 record, 3.55 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 51 strikeouts over 50 2/3 innings. 

Locastro wins it in 11 innings

Tim Locastro drove in the game-winning run with a single Saturday night to lead Arizona to a 6-5 home victory over New York in 11 innings. Locastro ended the contest 1-for-1 off the bench with a walk, a run scored and the RBI. Yoshihisa Hirano earned the win in relief as he threw one scoreless inning with no hits allowed, one strikeout and one walk.
