Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help the Angels defeat the Mariners on Saturday. With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the eighth inning, Calhoun took Roenis Elias deep to give the Angels a 5-3 lead, and the outfielder his 12th homer of the season. He's also driven 33 runs, and that hit along with a single improves his slash to .246/.336/.503 over 54 games. Far from elite numbers, but it's a vast improvement on the ugly, ugly start Calhoun had in 2018.

Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin

Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that the Phillies' trade for Jay Bruce is "complete." Salisbury adds that it's possible Bruce joins the team Sunday in Los Angeles for their game against the Dodgers. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported previously that Philly will assume the "bulk" of the $21.5 million Bruce is owed through the end of next season. He should play left field against right-handers, with Andrew McCutchen moving over to center.
