Kenley Jansen threw the final 1 1/3 innings of perfect baseball with two strikeouts for his 16th save. David Freese helped pace the offense as he finished 2-for-4 and scored a run. MLB Betting Trends
The Phillies are 5-0 in their last five series openers. Philadelphia is 4-1 in its last five Friday games.
The Dodgers are 4-0 in the last four Maeda home starts. Los Angeles is 9-3 in its last 12 home games versus the Phillies.
Prediction:This is a decent pitching matchup with a pair of strong offenses, but with the way the Dodgers are playing at home right now they are tough to fade. Maeda typically pitches his best at home and Arrieta isn't the overpowering pitcher he once was. Look for the Dodgers to make a strong statement here against another very good team.
