According to oddsmakers, the Indians are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -190 to win. The White Sox are getting a money line of +175 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 8.5 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 79 percent going on Cleveland on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Indians take two from Boston

Cleveland is coming off a series win at Boston this week, taking the last two games of the series to get back over .500. The Indians are 28-27 on the season, 13-13 on the road and 32-22 with the under. Carlos Carrasco gets the start for the Indians today. He is 4-5 on the season with a 4.60 ERA.

The Indians have a solid pitching staff this season, posting a 3.94 team ERA with a 1.24 team WHIP. At the plate, Cleveland is averaging just 4.07 runs per game while hitting .227 as a team. Carlos Santana is leading the team with 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 34 RBI while Francisco Lindor has five doubles, seven home runs and 18 RBI.

Sox sweep Royals

Chicago is coming off a sweep at home of the Kansas City Royals. They won all three games by one run. The White Sox are 26-29 on the season, 12-16 on the road and 28-26 with the under. Chicago has Manny Banuelos taking the mound today. He is 2-4 on the season with a 7.71 ERA.

The White Sox have struggled at the plate and on the mound this year. Chicago has a 5.09 team ERA with a 1.46 team WHIP. Hitting-wise, the White Sox average 4.22 runs per game while posting a .251 team batting average. Jose Abreu is leading the team with 14 doubles, 14 home runs and 46 RBI. Yoan Moncada is adding 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 34 RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Cleveland

The Indians are 1-6 in their last seven series openers and just 3-7 in Carrasco’s last 10 road starts.

Chicago

The White Sox are 4-1 in their last five home games and 8-3 in their last 11 series openers.

Prediction:

These two have split the first eight meetings in this series, with the home and road teams each picking up wins. However, Banuelos is a mess. He has given up 24 runs over 15.0 innings in his last four starts. He walks a lot and doesn’t strike out many. Carrasco has been hit-and-miss as well, but he pitched two scoreless starts against the White Sox earlier this month. I think he continues to do well against Chicago’s hitters while the Indians beat up the White Sox pitching.

MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -190
