Yankees take doubleheader

New York is on a seven-game win streak right now thanks to 7-3 and 6-5 wins over the Royals on Saturday in a doubleheader. The Yankees are 34-17 overall, 17-7 on the road and 28-21 with the over. Domingo German gets the start for New York today. He is 9-1 on the season with a 2.60 ERA.

The doubleheader on Saturday started well, as the Yankees scored two runs in the first and never trailed in the opener. J.A. Happ struck out 10 over six innings to earn his fourth win of the year while Luke Voit connected on his 13th home run of the season. In game two, New York’s pen locked things down late, not allowing an earned run over the last four innings. Aroldis Chapman got his 14th save while Cameron Maybin drove in three runs on two hits.

Royals lose another two

Kansas City has lost seven of its last nine games following the two losses on Saturday to the Yankees. KC is 17-34 on the season, 10-17 at home and 27-20 with the over. The Royals have Danny Duffy getting the start today. He is 3-1 on the year with a 3.45 ERA.

Jake Junis gave up three runs over six innings in Game 1, but didn’t take the decision, as Scott Barlow relieved him and gave up four runs in 1.1 innings. Whit Merrifield drove in all three runs at the plate for KC. In the second game, Jorge Lopez gave up five runs in just one inning to take his sixth loss of the season. Hunter Dozier had two doubles and drove in a run at the plate.

MLB Betting Trends

New York

The Yankees have won 24 of their last 30 games on grass and five of their last seven against a left-handed starter.

Kansas City

The Royals have lost their last four home games and 21 of their last 26 Sunday contests.

Prediction:

The Yankees are just torching teams right now and they send one of their top arms in 2019 to the mound today. He has won his last six starts and is taking limited damage in each of his starts. Duffy has good starts as well, but not quite as strong as German. KC also hasn’t shown an ability to pitch behind their starters, or give their starters the run support like the Yankees do.

MLB Prediction: New York Yankees -160
