JaCoby Jones paced the Tigers offense as he finished 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and four RBIs. Miguel Cabrera was 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two RBIs. Shane Greene threw a perfect ninth inning for his 16th save. Ryan Carpenter gets the start tonight for Detroit as he comes in with an 0-2 record, 13.00 ERA and 1.70 WHIP with seven strikeouts over nine innings.

MLB Betting Trends
Detroit
The Tigers are 22-47 in their last 69 road games. Detroit is 1-4 in its last five Saturday games.
New York
The Mets are 9-4 in Vargas' last 13 starts. New York is 7-0 in its last seven home games.
Prediction:
Don't ask me how the Mets are winning most of Vargas' starts as he is super hittable, but maybe the bats just know they need to provide him plenty of run support. They should score a lot against Carpenter, who has yet to prove he knows how to get out MLB hitters. In a battle of bad starting pitchers, Vargas is less bad and New York has a lot more offensive firepower. Expect the hosts to get it done here unlike last night.
