Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin

Eugenio Suarez clubbed a go-ahead two-run homer off of Steve Cishek in the ninth inning on Friday, powering the Reds to a 6-5 victory over the Cubs. The Reds entered the ninth inning trailing by a run, when Joey Votto got things started by working a nine-pitch walk. Suarez then stepped to the dish and clobbered the first pitch he saw from Cishek over the wall in center for the game-changing home run. He also singled in the game, finishing the day 2-for-5. For the season, Suarez is slashing .258/.340/.544 with 14 long balls and 33 RBI.

Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin

Kris Bryant slugged his 12th home run of the season on Friday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Cubs to victory over the Reds. Bryant belted one of three Cubs' home runs off of Reds' starter Anthony DeSclafani, with his two-run blast extending the Cubs' lead to 3-0 in the third inning. Bryant also singled in the contest, finishing the afternoon 2-for-5. With the two-hit attack, he's now slashing .283/.406/.572 with 12 long balls and 34 RBI on the season.

MLB Betting Trends

Cincinnati

The Reds are 8-0 in their last eight games when their opponent scores five runs or more in its previous contest.

Chicago

The Cubs are 42-13 in their last 55 home games when facing an opponent with a losing record.

Prediction:

Yu Darvish has yet to string together quality starts this season and has had issues with walks, handing out 36 free passes in 48 innings. Meanwhile, Tyler Mahle is coming off his first victory of the season, allowing just four hits over six scoreless innings versus the Dodgers. Given Chicago’s issues in the bullpen, the Reds are worth a look as the underdog today.

The Pick: Cincinnati Reds +132
