Public Betting Trends
According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 61% of the betting tickets are on the Indians to beat the Rays on the moneyline.
Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Kevin Kiermaier went 1-for-3 and broke the game open with a three-run homer during Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Dodgers. He wrapped a bow on a a seven-run seventh inning by taking Caleb Ferguson yard with two runners along for the ride. The blast blew open what had been a tight game for most of the evening. Kiermaier is a fringe starter in standard fantasy leagues with his .234 batting average, four homers, 17 RBI, 20 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Francisco Lindor reached base four times Wednesday in Cleveland’s loss to the Athletics. Not much went right for the Tribe in Wednesday’s series finale, but at least Lindor did his part, collecting two hits (both singles) and a pair of walks in the losing effort. He’s been scorching-hot for the Tribe, cruising to a .345 mark over the course of his seven-game hit streak. Clearly the All-Star shortstop is showing no ill effects from his early-season ankle injury.
MLB Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Rays are 13-3 in their last 16 games when facing a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
Cleveland
The Indians are 9-1 in their last 10 games versus opponents from the American League East.
Prediction:
The under is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and I like it to cash again tonight at Progressive Field. The under is 5-0 in Adam Plutko’s last five home starts, is 7-1 in his last eight outings overall and is 19-7-1 in the Indians’ last 27 games. On the other side, the under has cashed in seven of the Rays’ last eight road games and is 4-1 in their last five road outings when facing a right-handed starter.
The Pick: Rays/Indians UNDER 8.5
