Mariners on a slide
Seattle has lost the first two games of this series, including a 5-3 loss on Tuesday night. The Mariners are 23-28 on the season, 13-14 on the road and 34-15 with the over. Seattle has Marco Gonzales on the mound today. He is 5-3 on the season with a 3.65 ERA.
Tommy Milone made his season debut on Tuesday. He pitched five innings and gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts. He still took the loss as Seattle fell behind early. Omar Narvaez led Seattle at the plate with three hits and two RBI while Jay Bruce drove in the other run for the Mariners.
Rangers get to even
Texas got back to the .500 mark on Tuesday thanks to its sixth win in seven games. The Rangers are 23-23 overall, 16-8 at home and 26-19 with the over. Texas has Jesse Chavez on the mound today. He is 0-1 on the season with a 5.25 ERA.
Lance Lynn earned his sixth win of the season on Tuesday night, pitching seven innings and striking out 11 batters while giving up just two runs and five hits. Shawn Kelley recorded his third save of the season in the ninth. Joey Gallo continued his strong season, knocking out his 15th home run of the season while driving in two runs, giving him 35th RBI for the year. Nomar Mazara added three hits, with two doubles, and scored two runs.
MLB Betting Trends
The Mariners have lost Gonzales’ last four starts and they are just 3-13 in their last 16 road games.
The Rangers have won six of their last seven home games, but are just 4-9 in their last 13 division games.
Chavez is a reliever that is getting his second start of the season. He has appeared in 20 games and has not allowed a run over his last 9.2 innings on the mound. Gonzales is coming off giving up six runs in five innings to the Twins. He did pitch seven scoreless against the Rangers at home last month. Despite that, Seattle is in a real funk right now and I can’t trust them as a road favorite against a team that is playing good baseball right now.
MLB Prediction: Texas Rangers +110
